Hallmark Submits to Secular Society… Again!

Another “family friendly” media outlet turns its back on the traditional family… how sad.

Last week, the Hallmark Channel decided not to allow gay wedding commercials or other ads that stray from the traditional family from airing on their network. Their decision was based on pressure from a group called “One Million Moms” who pushed to boycott the network for introducing such trash into family programming.

However, a few days later the Hallmark Channel reversed course again. After taking heat from mainstream media and many liberal organizations, management for the network was ready to run fast toward the liberal point of view and their unGodly view on marriage.

Hallmark President Mike Perry released a statement to CNN saying, “ “Our mission is rooted in helping all people connect, celebrate traditions, and be inspired to capture meaningful moments in their lives. Anything that detracts for this purpose is not who we are,” he said. “As the CEO of Hallmark, I am sorry for the hurt and disappointment this has caused.”

Too bad Hallmark does not honor God’s commandment and not the traditions of secular society. We all remember what God told us about homosexuality.

The Bible explains in 1 Timmothy 1:10; “for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine.”

God’s word is “very” clear on the practice of homosexuality and the end result of those who are sexually immoral. For a network that prides itself on being family friendly, it is hard to imagine what a network labeled “sexually risky” might look like.

As for us Christians, we should rethink our viewing choices and the products we buy on a daily basis. For me and my family, we will serve the Lord and avoid watching the Hallmark Channel and all of its many spin-off businesses.

Now, who will your family serve? The secular network’s ideal of moral or “family friendly” or the Bible’s sound word on that is good? For your sake and that of your family, I hope you will choose the Bible…
